What Is Motor Air Cooler Meaning

A motor air cooler is a device used to cool a motor by blowing air across the motor surface to reduce the temperature of the motor. This equipment usually consists of one or more fans, which can be installed around or inside the motor as required.

When a motor is running, the motor generates heat and if the motor overheats it can lead to reduced performance, damage or a safety incident. Therefore, motor air coolers are necessary.

There are two main types of motor air cooler: external and internal. External coolers are mounted on the outside of the motor, usually at the end cap, and use a fan to blow air into the motor. Built-in coolers are installed inside the motor and circulate the air through the motor itself or with the help of an external fan.

The use of motor air coolers can improve the efficiency and life of the motor and reduce the cost of motor failure and maintenance due to overheating.

Internal coolers
A built-in cooler is a cooling device installed inside the motor to reduce the temperature of the motor and improve its performance and life. Unlike an external cooler, an internal cooler works automatically while the motor is running and requires no additional operation or maintenance.
When the motor is running, the fan draws the surrounding air inside the motor, cools it through the radiator and then expels it from the motor. This allows the heat generated on the surface of the motor to be effectively dissipated, keeping the motor's temperature within normal limits.

The internal cooler has the advantages of being compact, easy to install and space saving, making it suitable for applications where space is limited, such as small motors, fans and pumps. At the same time, the built-in cooler can also reduce the heat transfer resistance between the motor and the environment, improve the cooling efficiency and reduce the operating cost and failure rate of the motor.
